Edwards Leads Timberwolves to Statement Win

Anthony Edwards delivered another milestone performance on Sunday night, guiding the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 125-112 victory over the San Antonio Spurs at Target Center. Edwards finished with 32 points, surpassing Karl-Anthony Towns to become the franchise’s all-time leader in games with 30 or more points.

Timberwolves Bounce Back at Home

The win capped a strong weekend for Minnesota, which had dropped three straight on the road before securing back-to-back home victories. Julius Randle played a pivotal role with 22 points, 12 assists, and six rebounds, while the Timberwolves’ fourth-quarter surge proved decisive.

Minnesota outscored San Antonio 36-19 in the final period, highlighted by clutch three-pointers from Donte DiVincenzo and Naz Reid that swung momentum firmly in their favor.

Spurs Show Fight Despite Injuries

The Spurs kept the contest close through three quarters, leading 93-89 entering the fourth and holding a narrow halftime edge at 62-61.

De’Aaron Fox paced San Antonio with 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting, continuing his strong play since arriving in a seven-player trade earlier this year. With Victor Wembanyama sidelined by a left calf strain, Fox has averaged 24 points per game to keep the Spurs competitive.

Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson also contributed 22 points apiece, but the team faltered late against Minnesota’s offensive push.

Edwards’ Historic Night

Despite committing six turnovers in the first half, Edwards found his rhythm as the game progressed. He closed with 13-of-18 shooting, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, marking his 102nd career game with at least 30 points. The achievement cements his place as one of the Timberwolves’ most prolific scorers.

What Happens Next

The Timberwolves will look to carry their momentum into Tuesday’s road matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans, while the Spurs return home to face the Memphis Grizzlies. Both teams will be aiming to build consistency as the season heads deeper into December.
