HGTV favorites Ben Napier and Erin Napier are returning with a milestone season of Home Town, and this time, the renovations come with deeply personal stakes. As the hit series prepares to launch its 10th season on January 4, the couple is opening up about family drama, emotional projects, and a surprise baby announcement that caught them completely off guard.
Season 10 of Home Town features 16 new episodes and marks more than 100 renovated homes in Laurel, Mississippi. The Napiers say the milestone feels surreal. Erin revealed that only a small percentage of TV shows ever reach this point, making the achievement even more meaningful. Ben added that when the show first launched, they never imagined a small-town renovation series would resonate with audiences nationwide for nearly a decade.
The season premiere tackles what Ben and Erin describe as the largest Home Town renovation ever. The two-episode project focuses on one of Laurel’s most iconic homes, owned by a resident who has lived there for more than 50 years.
While the house’s exterior appeared pristine, the interior was on the verge of collapse. Erin explained that no contractor was willing to take on the job due to its condition — until they stepped in. The emotional weight was amplified by the fact that the homeowners are longtime members of the community, making the pressure to “get it right” even greater.
Later in the season, things become especially personal when the Napiers renovate the home of Ben’s brother, Jesse. The project came with unexpected tension after Jesse and his wife purchased a fixer-upper without consulting Ben — despite his career in renovations.
The shock didn’t end there. Jesse then revealed that baby number three was on the way, a moment Erin described as a true “bombshell.” With a growing family, a small business, and a demanding renovation, the Napiers stepped in to help, knowing the timing was far from ideal. The experience highlighted how much their family’s needs and lifestyles have evolved since their last renovation years earlier.
Season 10 also includes renovations beyond private homes. The Napiers transform a hospital maternity ward and waiting room, as well as a home that will double as a wedding venue for an engaged couple. Ben noted that this season pushed the production crew to their limits, with multiple projects feeling nearly impossible once construction began. Erin added that the emotional and physical challenges made it one of their toughest seasons yet.
Despite the stress and family drama, the Napiers say the heart of Home Town remains unchanged: restoring historic spaces and strengthening their community. As the show continues to grow, they hope viewers feel inspired to invest in the towns they love.
