Beyoncé and Jay-Z were rumored to be considering a major move to the UK, with reports linking them to a sprawling estate in the Cotswolds. The £7.5 million parcel of land, spanning 58 acres, came with permission to build a seven-bedroom home.
However, according to The Sun, the deal collapsed after flooding risks were raised. A source told the outlet: “Beyoncé and Jay-Z buying this plot of land was the talk of the Cotswolds… but the plan appears to have fallen through.”
The area has reportedly been prone to flooding, with recent heavy rainfall reinforcing concerns. Locals described the weather as having “put a dampener on proceedings,” leading the couple to walk away from the purchase.
The property has not yet been sold but is now being developed by another couple, according to the report.
The Cotswolds has long been a magnet for celebrity homeowners. However, flooding has proven to be a recurring issue. The report pointed to Ellen DeGeneres, who purchased an Oxfordshire estate for £15 million in June 2024. After the property flooded during Storm Bert in November, she later listed it for £22.5 million.
While Beyoncé and Jay-Z have not confirmed any plans to relocate to the UK, the flooding risk appears to have halted this particular move. For now, the couple remains focused on their global ventures, with real estate speculation continuing to follow them wherever they go.
