Activision is gearing up for one of its biggest promotional pushes yet as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 prepares to open its doors to all players with a full free trial next week. For seven days, fans can experience both Multiplayer and Zombies without restrictions—an unusually generous move for the franchise.
The trial arrives shortly after the Season 01 launch on December 4, giving new and returning players the perfect opportunity to explore fresh content and massive gameplay updates.
Unlike typical weekend-only trials, Activision confirmed a full seven-day window for unrestricted access. The trial features complete entry into Multiplayer and Zombies, ensuring players can test the game’s core experiences without paywalls.
Running alongside the trial is a Double XP weekend, allowing players to accelerate leveling across weapons, operators, and seasonal ranks. Progression earned during this period carries over to the full game for those who purchase afterward.
Black Ops 7’s Multiplayer experience arrives fully intact for trial players. Nineteen launch maps designed for 6v6 action will be available, each built with Treyarch’s hallmark focus on flow, balance, and competitive depth.
Players can choose from 30 launch weapons across categories such as ARs, SMGs, shotguns, and snipers. All weapon progression remains unlocked during the trial, offering a genuine look at loadout customization and long-term grinding.
Core competitive modes including Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Search and Destroy will rotate throughout the week, giving players multiple ways to engage with the game’s skill-based sandbox.
For Zombies fans, the free trial offers a complete version of Treyarch’s latest undead survival mode. Players can explore story-driven objectives, environmental hazards, and the mode’s signature Easter eggs.
Up to four players can team up in cooperative sessions that scale based on difficulty and squad performance. Unlockable camos, cosmetics, and achievements remain permanently tied to accounts if the player purchases the game, making the trial a valuable jumpstart for long-term progression.
Pre-downloads open on December 9 or 10 across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The game requires more than 100 GB of free space, so players should prepare storage in advance.
To protect progression and unlock tracking, Activision recommends logging into or creating an account before launch. Updating system software, graphics drivers, and ensuring stable internet speeds (20 Mbps minimum) will help guarantee smooth gameplay.
All earned progress—operators, weapons, XP, and cosmetic unlocks—automatically carries over to the full game. Limited-time items earned during the Double XP weekend are exclusive and cannot be obtained later.
Activision also confirmed the game will receive unprecedented seasonal support, with every season bringing substantial content drops and balance updates.
With a full week of no-cost access, expanded progression benefits, and a major content update already live, Black Ops 7’s free trial is shaping up to be one of the franchise’s most generous opportunities yet.
