BTS is officially stepping back into the spotlight after a multi-year hiatus. The group will headline a livestreamed concert, BTS the Comeback Live | Arirang, set for March 21 at 4 a.m. PT / 7 a.m. ET. The performance will take place in Seoul’s Gwanghwamun area, just hours after the release of their highly anticipated new album Arirang.
The event carries historic weight, as it will be the first live performance broadcast from Korea to stream globally on Netflix.
The comeback concert will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, a veteran of live television known for producing Super Bowl Halftime Shows since 2010. His involvement signals a large-scale, polished production designed for BTS’ worldwide fanbase.
Following the concert, Netflix will premiere BTS: The Return on March 27, 2026. Directed by Bao Nguyen (The Greatest Night in Pop), the film chronicles the group’s reunion in Los Angeles, capturing their creative process as they return to the studio together.
The documentary highlights the making of Arirang, described as a defining album for BTS, reflecting the members’ current perspectives after years of solo projects and mandatory military service.
Arirang marks BTS’ first full-length release since 2022’s Proof. During their hiatus, members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook pursued solo work while fulfilling military service obligations.
Looking ahead, BTS has announced a global tour spanning 2026–2027, with 82 performances across 34 markets. The tour will open in Goyang, South Korea, with shows on April 9, 11, and 12, before moving to Tokyo and continuing across North America.
The coordinated rollout of Arirang, the Netflix livestream, and the documentary marks BTS’ most significant public activity since their hiatus. For fans and industry observers, the next few weeks will provide the clearest picture yet of how the group intends to reintroduce itself to the global stage.
