Channing Tatum is back in the spotlight just weeks after undergoing surgery for a separated shoulder.
The Magic Mike star, 45, appeared at the premiere of Josephine at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival on Friday, February 20. He joined his co-star Gemma Chan on the red carpet, wearing a sleek black pinstripe suit with a collarless jacket, wide-leg trousers, and polished leather loafers. His appearance marked a strong comeback after revealing earlier this month that he had surgery to repair his shoulder injury.
On February 3, Tatum disclosed that he had undergone surgery for a “separated shoulder.” Days before his Berlin appearance, he posted X-ray images on Instagram showing screws holding his bones in place.
“Screwed shoulder. Yay,” he captioned one of the images, joking about the metal hardware. He later admitted he thought the procedure would be “two little holes” but was surprised by the extent of the surgery.
Despite the setback, Tatum reassured fans that he was healing well. “It’s feeling stronger day by day, so thank you doc,” he wrote, adding that he enjoys his new scar.
Tatum kept his spirits high, even joking about airport security. “I do like going through airport security wondering if my shoulder is gonna shut off the machine,” he quipped. The actor did not reveal how the shoulder injury occurred, but he is known for performing many of his own stunts.
This isn’t the first time Tatum has faced physical challenges. In a September interview, he shared that he injured his leg while filming Avengers: Doomsday, set for release in December 2026. The injury required intensive physical therapy and forced him to rely more on a stunt double. Reflecting on the toll of injuries, Tatum admitted, “It’s not about the pain I feel in the moment. It’s knowing I can’t take this back. And now I know what the next six months of my life will be like … I just hate getting old. In my mind, I’m literally still 30 years old — 26, if I’m honest.”
With his shoulder healing and his latest film debuting at Berlin, Tatum’s resilience and humor continue to inspire fans. His return to the red carpet signals not just recovery but a renewed focus on his career and upcoming projects.
