Colleen Hoover Shares Health Update After Cancer Treatment: “I Do Not Have Cancer Anymore”

Best-selling author Colleen Hoover, known for It Ends With Us and Regretting You, has reassured fans with a positive health update following her recent cancer diagnosis.

Clarifying Misleading Reports

Hoover addressed speculation in a Facebook post, writing: “Just clarification because of some misleading clickbait making it sound like I’m on my deathbed or something, but I do not have cancer anymore.” She explained that she was diagnosed last year, underwent successful surgery, and has now completed radiation therapy.

Treatment Journey

The author revealed she finished radiation at Texas Oncology, praising the medical team for their care. She previously shared that her cancer was removed surgically and described the experience as “huge and scary” but ultimately manageable. Hoover emphasized that she is “done and good and all is well.”

Lifestyle Reflections

In candid Instagram posts, Hoover suggested her cancer was likely linked to lifestyle factors such as poor diet, stress, and lack of exercise, rather than genetics. She admitted humorously: “I’m happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables. I hate sweating. I hate when science is right.” She added that while she is committed to healthier habits, fans shouldn’t expect her to enjoy them: “If you see me at the gym, don’t even tell me good job.”

Career Impact

Hoover disclosed that she delayed sharing her diagnosis until she knew the outcome. The illness forced her to miss the Regretting You premiere and other personal milestones. Her latest book, Woman Down, was released on January 13, but she has not scheduled a tour, citing uncertainty about her energy levels.

Gratitude and Advice

Despite the challenges, Hoover expressed relief that her cancer treatment was relatively quick. She urged fans to pay attention to their health: “Listen to your body when something feels off.”

Looking Ahead

Hoover continues to balance her writing career with recovery. Her upcoming adaptation of Reminders of Him is set to hit theaters on March 13, 2026, keeping her creative work in the spotlight even as she prioritizes her well-being.
