Daniel Radcliffe Reveals His Most Recognized Roles Beyond Harry Potter

Daniel Radcliffe may always be remembered as the boy who lived, but fans often bring up other projects when they meet him — including one he wasn’t even in.

Fans Claim They’re “Not Potter Fans”

In a recent conversation with ScreenRant, Radcliffe explained that many people go out of their way to tell him they don’t like Harry Potter. Instead, they highlight his more unusual projects such as Swiss Army Man — where he played a corpse — or Guns Akimbo, in which his character has guns fused to his hands.

He also recalled being recognized for his cameo in Ricky Gervais’ comedy series Extras. “They would be like, ‘I loved you in Extras. I don’t like *Harry Potter.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, mate. That was also 10 years of my life,’” Radcliffe joked.

Mistaken Identity with Elijah Wood

Interestingly, Radcliffe revealed that he is sometimes mistaken for Elijah Wood, star of The Lord of the Rings. “I will occasionally also be recognized for work that is not my own — Lord of the Rings,” he said. Despite their differences in age and appearance, the two actors are often confused because they both led major fantasy franchises in the same era.

Embracing His Career Beyond Hogwarts

Radcliffe has built a diverse career since leaving Hogwarts behind. From indie films to quirky comedies, he has embraced roles far removed from Harry Potter. While fans may try to distance themselves from the wizarding world when meeting him, Radcliffe takes it all in stride.

With a new Harry Potter series on the horizon, Radcliffe’s legacy as the original Harry will remain intact. But his eclectic choices ensure that audiences will continue to recognize him for far more than just one role — even if sometimes they confuse him with Frodo.
