Dave Coulier Shares Health Update: In Remission From Two Cancers

Actor and comedian Dave Coulier has announced that he is officially in remission from both tongue cancer and Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The Full House alum, 66, shared the news during an appearance on Good Morning America, describing his journey as “a roller coaster ride.”

Two Diagnoses in Two Years

Coulier revealed in 2024 that he had been diagnosed with a “very aggressive” form of Stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He first noticed symptoms after developing a cold and discovering a large lump in his groin. Following chemotherapy, doctors confirmed in February 2025 that no cancer cells remained. Just months later, during a routine checkup, doctors discovered p16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue. The diagnosis, unrelated to his lymphoma, was linked to HPV. Coulier admitted the news was a shock, especially after believing he had overcome his first battle with cancer.

A Message of Awareness

Now in remission from both cancers, Coulier is using his platform to encourage early detection. “I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer, believe me,” he said. “But now I feel like I can encourage people to get those prostate exams and mammograms and just talk to your doctors and get ahead of this.” He added that even though he is in remission, cancer remains “in the rear-view mirror,” emphasizing the importance of regular screenings and proactive health care.

Support System

Throughout his treatment, Coulier leaned on his wife, Melissa, and longtime friend and Full House co-star John Stamos. He credited their support and humor for helping him through difficult times. “The silver lining here is that I had cancer, which helped me detect my other cancer,” Coulier said. “It seems crazy to be making that statement, but it’s true.”

Looking Ahead

Best known for his role as Joey Gladstone on Full House, Coulier has built a career in comedy and television spanning decades. His resilience in the face of two cancer diagnoses highlights not only his strength but also the importance of awareness and early detection.
