Demi Lovato is opening up about married life with husband Jordan “Jutes” Lutes as the couple prepares to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. The singer, 33, tied the knot with the musician, 34, in Santa Barbara, California, in May 2025, and she says her love for him continues to grow.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Lovato shared that she didn’t think it was possible to love Jutes more than she did on their wedding day. “I genuinely thought on my wedding day, ‘I can’t love this man anymore than I already do.’ And then a few weeks, months go by, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, I thought that I was maxed out on love and now I’m maxed out on love,’” she said.
Lovato added, “Every day, I just love him more and more. And I didn’t know that was possible.”
Lovato described marriage as “so much fun,” telling Access Hollywood that the best part is feeling like she’s living with her best friend. “We will stay up so late just laughing until we’re crying, and I think that’s the best part about being married to your best friend. It’s just like a giant sleepover every night,” she said. She praised Jutes as “incredible, talented, supportive, and caring,” noting that he inspires much of her work. The couple first met in the studio when Jutes came in as a songwriter on Lovato’s 2022 album Holy Fvck. Their friendship eventually blossomed into romance.
Lovato previously told Vogue that her wedding day was “more than worth it.” Surrounded by family and friends, she said marrying Jutes felt like marrying her soulmate. “It’s hard to put into words what Jordan means to me. To find a love like this has completed my life in so many ways,” she shared. Jutes echoed the sentiment, calling Lovato his “best friend” and saying he doesn’t take their life together for granted. “To be able to wake up with Demi, to be surrounded by her infectious laugh, her playful spirit, and her loving heart is a true gift,” he said.
As their first anniversary approaches, Lovato and Jutes continue to celebrate their love both privately and publicly. Their relationship, rooted in friendship and shared passion for music, has become a source of joy and inspiration for both.
