What Diddy’s Kids Said in Court: Emotional Pleas and Public Silence on Netflix Doc

As Sean “Diddy” Combs continues to face public scrutiny following his criminal conviction and the release of the explosive new Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, attention has turned to the voices that have remained closest to him throughout his legal battle — his children.

The music mogul, who is father to seven children, was convicted in July 2025 on two prostitution-related charges and later sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in prison. With time served, he is expected to spend about three years behind bars. During his sentencing hearing, six of his children appeared in court and delivered emotional statements asking for leniency.

The newly released four-part docuseries — which debuted on Netflix on Dec. 2 — features interviews and behind-the-scenes footage shot in the six days leading up to Combs’ arrest. While the documentary has generated widespread reaction, none of Combs’ children have publicly commented on the project.

All Six Children Spoke at Sentencing

Present in the courtroom were Quincy, Justin, Christian (King), Chance, Jessie, and D’Lila, while Love, his youngest, remained absent due to her age.

Standing together at the podium, the siblings delivered personal remarks directly to the judge. According to CNN, Quincy opened the statements, saying the family had seen change in their father:

“We’re going to love him unconditionally through his struggles. In front of you is a changed man.”

He added that they had witnessed more transformation in recent months than in the last 15 years.

Christian, also known as King Combs, called his father “the greatest in the world” and said:

“He is my hero… He always taught me to treat women with respect.”

Jessie acknowledged her father’s actions openly:

“He isn’t perfect and he has made many mistakes… but he is still our dad and we still need him present in our lives.”

Her twin sister D’Lila pleaded for a chance for the family to rebuild:

“We are asking for the chance to heal together.”

Chance added emotionally:

“We’re still just daughters who need our father.”

Speaking on behalf of toddler Love, D’Lila shared that the family was worried about the youngest child growing up without her father:

“We cannot watch our baby sister grow up fatherless the same way we had to.”

Justin Called Diddy His “Superhero”

During his own statement, Justin Combs asked the court to allow his father “a second chance,” calling him someone who still “has so much more to give.”

“My father is my superhero,” Justin said. “He has changed for the better.”

Diddy Apologized to His Children

Before sentencing, Combs addressed his family directly:

“I am so sorry. I failed as a father. Y’all deserve better.”

Despite ongoing debate around The Reckoning, the family has stayed silent. A spokesperson for Combs previously criticized the project as “a shameful hit piece,” while director Alexandria Stapleton defended the legality of the footage used.
