Elle Fanning, dressed in a flowing baby-blue Gucci gown, joined fellow celebrities on the red carpet under the museum’s iconic “Urban Light” installation.
Other standout appearances included Cynthia Erivo in a sculpted metallic look, Angela Bassett shimmering in Gucci, and Lorde in a minimalist monochrome ensemble. The event culminated with a live performance by Doja Cat, who energized the gala crowd with a dynamic stage set.
Honoree Ryan Coogler delivered one of the evening’s most heartfelt moments, reflecting on his friendship with the late social justice activist Michael Latt.
“Michael was changing the world,” Coogler said during his speech, recalling his early days at USC. “I never thought of myself as an artist. I was a football player before anything.”
The filmmaker added that Los Angeles had become his “second home,” emphasizing how film had given him a community and a platform to tell stories that matter.
Beyond the glitz, the gala plays a vital role in funding LACMA’s initiative to integrate film more deeply into its exhibitions, acquisitions, and educational programming.
The Art+Film Gala, supported by Gucci since its inception, continues to position Los Angeles as a global hub for both cinema and fine art. Elle Fanning’s participation, alongside fellow artists and performers, underscores the ongoing collaboration between Hollywood and the museum world.
