The Twisted Relic has quickly become one of the most talked-about items in Fisch following the Merlin update. This rare enchantment relic dramatically changes how your fishing rod performs, trading stability for raw power. For players who enjoy high-risk, high-reward gameplay, the Twisted Relic delivers some of the most dramatic enchant effects in the game.
Whether you’re chasing massive fish, faster catches, or pure chaos, here’s a clear breakdown of how to get the Twisted Relic and what each twisted enchant actually does.
The Twisted Relic is a premium enchant relic that completely replaces your rod’s primary enchant with one from a new, more extreme set. Each of these comes with major buffs — but also curses.
This makes the relic ideal for experienced players or anyone looking to push their fishing runs into dangerous but rewarding territory.
There are currently seven possible twisted enchants. Each brings a powerful boost but also a penalty you must be ready to manage.
| Name | Effect |
|---|---|
| Rage | 40% chance per fish movement to stab for +8% progress; –50 Luck, –20 Resilience |
| Greed | +50 Fish Size, but –30 Lure Speed, –5 Progress Speed |
| Fractured | +50 Progress Speed, but –0.1 Control |
| Pharaoh’s Curse | 25% chance for Sandy fish (1.2x multiplier) |
| Putrid | –10 Luck |
| Weak | –10 Max KG |
| Wobbly | –0.05 Control |
Some enchants — like Rage and Fractured — drastically speed up catches. Others, like Greed, help size hunters. A few are purely harmful, acting as the “curse side” of the relic.
Getting the Twisted Relic requires visiting Merlin, the new NPC introduced in the Sunstone Island expansion.
Follow these steps:
Travel to Sunstone Island and find Merlin.
Complete Merlin’s Quest to unlock his shop.
Interact with him and choose “Can I see your shop?”
Purchase the Twisted Relic for 500,000 C$.
Note: You can only buy one Twisted Relic every 30 minutes.
This cooldown makes the relic one of the more controlled and valuable items in the game.
The Twisted Relic isn’t for everyone — but players who enjoy risky builds will absolutely love it.
Size hunters using Greed
Speed fishers using Rage or Fractured
Experienced players who can handle cursed stats
Players who enjoy unpredictable gameplay
Beginners
Players who need stable control or consistency
Anyone who prefers the comfort of standard enchants
If you’re simply optimizing rods, the Enchant Relic and Exalted Relic remain better choices. And for secondary enchants, the Cosmic Relic is still the only option.
Yes. The curses reduce control, luck, or resilience, making fishing noticeably harder without proper experience.
