Genshin Impact’s Luna III (version 6.2) phase brings one of the strongest lineups in recent memory, combining two powerful new Natlan characters with a heavily buffed Anemo archon and a stylish DPS. With Primogems always in short supply, players are already asking the key question: who should you pull first?
Here’s a breakdown of the best characters to pull in Genshin Impact Luna III, ranked by overall value, versatility, and future-proofing.
Durin is the clear No. 1 pull in the Luna III cycle. He is arguably one of the best Pyro sub-DPS and appliers in the game, rivaling Mavuika but with a much simpler and more flexible kit.
His strong, consistent Pyro application makes him ideal for Vaporize, Melt and Burgeon teams, and he fits into a wide variety of lineups without demanding specific teammates or constellations. For players who enjoy meta reaction teams or want a long-term account investment, Durin is an easy “must-pull.”
Xilonen is another standout of Luna III, but her value depends more on your existing roster. She offers a packed support kit, including:
Team-wide buffs
Healing and shielding
Interruption resistance
Her synergy is strongest with Natlan characters, making her exceptional in region-themed or reaction-focused teams from that nation. If you have already invested in Natlan units but lack a dedicated premium support, Xilonen jumps to the top of your personal pull order.
Venti returns to the banner rotation with a significant upgrade. In Luna III, he receives:
A new Hexerei classification
A new signature weapon
A revised kit that boosts his Anemo DPS potential
With these changes, Venti now competes with, and in many cases surpasses, Xiao and Wanderer as an on-field Anemo damage dealer. His new ability allows him to fire Anemo arrows that pass through enemies after using his Elemental Burst, creating high Swirl damage and improved crowd control.
For longtime fans of the Anemo archon, this banner finally lets Venti play as strong as his lore suggests.
Varesa is one of the most entertaining characters in the update, thanks to her unorthodox playstyle and flashy animations. She can act as a powerful Electro DPS, but her team-building is more restricted than the others.
To fully unlock her potential, you almost need Iansan in the same team, and her kit leans heavily toward Overload-focused lineups. She offers less flexibility for other Electro reactions like Hyperbloom or Aggravate, which places her lower in the overall pull priority.
For players who value fun, aesthetics, and niche team concepts, Varesa is still a tempting choice—but she’s not the most efficient Primogem spend compared to Durin or Xilonen.
Luna III is objectively a strong banner phase, with Durin and Xilonen offering high long-term value and Venti finally receiving meaningful buffs. However, the decision to pull also depends on your plans for Luna IV (6.3).
Leaks and early information suggest that Columbina will headline the next cycle, along with two new Lantern Rite characters. Columbina is expected to be a top-tier support for Lunar reaction teams, making her a major draw for future meta rosters.
If your Primogem stash is limited and you absolutely want Columbina, skipping or lightly pulling on Luna III may be the smarter play. On the other hand, if you want immediate account power and versatile supports, Durin and Xilonen are excellent, safe pulls in 6.2.
