HBO Max Moves Up Episodes of Industry and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Ahead of Super Bowl

HBO Max is shifting its schedule to avoid competing with the Super Bowl. The streamer announced that new episodes of Industry and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere early on Friday, February 6, instead of their usual Sunday night slots. Industry Season 4, Episode 5 and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Season 1, Episode 4 will be available on HBO Max at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET. Their linear HBO premieres will still air at the regular times of 9 p.m. ET and 10 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Why the Change?

This move is not unprecedented. HBO has previously adjusted release schedules to avoid losing viewership during major televised events. With the Super Bowl drawing millions of viewers, the early release ensures fans can enjoy their favorite shows without missing out.

Industry Season 4

Created by Konrad Kay and Mickey Down, Industry debuted in 2020 and quickly earned critical acclaim for its sharp portrayal of young graduates navigating the high-pressure trading floor of Pierpoint & Co. Season 4 introduces new conflicts as characters face off over a flashy fintech company called Tender. The cast includes Myha’la, Marisa Abela, Kit Harington, Ken Leung, Max Minghella, Miriam Petche, Sagar Radia, Toheeb Jimoh, Charlie Heaton, Kiernan Shipka, Kal Penn, and Edward Holcroft. The series continues to explore ambition, loyalty, and the ruthless realities of global finance.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

The Game of Thrones universe expands with A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, set a century before the events of the original series. The show follows Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) as they journey through Westeros during the reign of the Targaryens. The six-episode season, which premiered January 18, promises dangerous adventures, powerful foes, and hints of the dragon legacy that shaped the realm. As the second spinoff from George R.R. Martin’s saga, it continues to build on the rich lore of Westeros.

Looking Ahead

By moving up these episodes, HBO Max ensures fans won’t have to choose between football and fantasy. The strategy highlights the streamer’s commitment to keeping audiences engaged during one of television’s busiest weekends.
