প্রবল দূর্যোগ ঘনিয়ে আসছে বাংলায়। ওড়িশা উপকূলে সৃষ্ট নিম্নচাপের কারণে ভারী বর্ষণের সম্ভাবনার পরিস্থিতি সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। গতকাল, শুক্রবার থেকে কলকাতা সহ দক্ষিণবঙ্গের বিভিন্ন অংশে প্রবল বৃষ্টিপাত হয়। আলিপুর আবহাওয়া দপ্তর সূত্রে খবর, ওড়িশা উপকূলে সৃষ্টি হওয়া নিম্নচাপের কারণে আগামী ৪৮ ঘন্টা সারা পশ্চিমবঙ্গ জুড়ে প্রবল বর্ষণের সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে।
এবছর বর্ষাকাল জুড়ে দক্ষিণ পশ্চিম মৌসুমী বায়ুর কারণে বাংলায় তেমন বৃষ্টিপাত হয়নি। গভীর দুশ্চিন্তায় কাটছে কৃষকদের দিন। খরা পরিস্থিতির মুখোমুখি পশ্চিমবঙ্গ। এই অবস্থায় ভরসা কেবল নিম্নচাপ। দিন কয়েক আগে বঙ্গোপসাগরে সৃষ্টি হওয়া নিম্নচাপে হাসি ফুটিয়েছিল কৃষকদের মুখে। দিন কয়েকের প্রবল বর্ষণে শুরু হয়েছিল চাষের কাজ। এবার আবার নিম্নচাপ জনিত প্রবল বর্ষণের সম্ভাবনা চাষের কাজে গতি আনবে।
