Among the highlights was Joe Torres, who played Danny Lightfoot, recalling how his favorite episode was one he was “written out of” due to an off-set accident.
Torres explained that while mountain biking in Sabino Canyon one night, he crashed into a stone bridge and fell, breaking his collarbone. The injury forced him to miss filming an episode where his character was central to the storyline. Christine Taylor, who played Melody Hanson, stepped in to take over the plot. Torres joked, “So, she was me,” adding that the unusual substitution made the episode his favorite.
Taylor laughed at the memory, admitting she had forgotten about the injury. David Lascher, her cohost on the Hey Dude… The 90’s Called! podcast, teased that Taylor wanted the storyline badly, prompting her to joke, “I knew some local guys that may have messed with your brakes.” The reunion was filled with playful banter, underscoring the camaraderie that defined the cast during the show’s run from 1989 to 1991.
