Jason Isaacs isn’t hiding his feelings about the next destination for The White Lotus. The actor, who appeared in Season 3 of HBO’s smash-hit anthology series, delivered a sharp and memorable reaction when asked about the newly revealed filming location for Season 4.
While speaking on the 2026 Golden Globes red carpet, Isaacs summed up his reaction in two words: “Pure jealousy.” His comment came after reports confirmed The White Lotus Season 4 will film at a glamorous castle-turned-luxury hotel in Saint-Tropez, France—a setting already generating major excitement online.
Isaacs explained that the new location is far easier to reach compared to Season 3’s Thailand shoot.
“I can get a train from where I live to be in France,” he said, contrasting it with the long travel required for the previous season.
But the envy goes beyond convenience.
Isaacs added that he’s jealous because friends of his are expected to appear in the upcoming season, and he believes they’re about to have an unforgettable experience on set.
In Season 3, Isaacs played Timothy Ratliff, the troubled patriarch of a wealthy but dysfunctional family. His on-screen wife was played by Parker Posey, while the couple’s three children were portrayed by Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sam Nivola, and Sarah Catherine Hook. Isaacs’ performance earned him a nomination for Best Performance in a Supporting Role on Television at the Golden Globes, though the award went to Owen Cooper for Adolescence.
Looking back, Isaacs described the experience as “magnificent,” and credited series creator Mike White for the show’s success. He said White’s writing allows actors to step into layered and unpredictable stories that don’t feel like typical TV roles. Isaacs also encouraged any actor offered a part in The White Lotus to accept immediately, calling the storytelling “fantastically complex.”
After filming earlier seasons at luxury Four Seasons properties in Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand, the next installment is shifting to France. Season 4 is set to take place in Paris, with production based at the Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez. The property spans 32 acres and is surrounded by parasol pines, cypress trees, and jasmine. It is part of the Airelles Collection, known for ultra-luxury, five-star experiences. Rooms at the resort reportedly cost between $3,000 and $8,000 per night.
Filming is expected to begin at the end of April and run through October, according to Variety. At the moment, Alexander Ludwig and AJ Michalka are the only confirmed cast members. Isaacs also teased that a friend of his will be joining the ensemble, adding more intrigue as viewers await the next wave of casting announcements.
