Jennifer Lawrence revealed in a new profile published by The New Yorker on October 27 that she intends to get a breast augmentation next month. The Oscar-winning actress, 35, shared that her body didn’t “bounce back” after giving birth to her second child earlier this year with husband Cooke Maroney. Lawrence noted that while she recovered quickly after her first pregnancy, the second left her with lasting physical changes, prompting her decision to pursue surgery.
The actress also discussed her cosmetic routine and how motherhood has reshaped her emotional and creative life.
Jennifer Lawrence announced her plans for breast augmentation surgery in November 2025, during an interview with The New Yorker, published on October 27. The decision follows the birth of her second child earlier this year. Lawrence explained that her body changed significantly after her second pregnancy, unlike her first with son Cy. She emphasized that the surgery is not solely for professional reasons, though she is preparing for a nude scene in an upcoming film scheduled to shoot in spring 2026.
Lawrence also hinted at her second child’s name, possibly “Louie,” based on a keychain spotted in recent paparazzi photos.
Lawrence told The New Yorker:
“Everything bounced back, pretty much, after the first one. Second one, nothing bounced back.”
She added:
“Maybe I wouldn’t be hustling to the appointment in the same way… But I think yes.”
At Cannes earlier this year, she reflected on motherhood while promoting Die My Love:
“It’s brutal and incredible… They’ve changed me creatively. I highly recommend having kids if you want to be an actor.”
Lawrence’s candid remarks have sparked conversations around postpartum recovery and body autonomy. Her openness about cosmetic procedures aligns with a growing trend of transparency among public figures. Professionally, the surgery supports her preparation for a demanding role in Die My Love, where she portrays a mother experiencing postpartum depression and psychosis.
Her comments also highlight the emotional depth she brings to her roles, shaped by her real-life experiences.
Lawrence is currently promoting Die My Love, co-starring Robert Pattinson. Filming for her next project begins in spring 2026, with a nude scene requiring physical and emotional readiness. She’s expected to attend the upcoming Gotham Awards and may appear at the Critics Choice ceremony in January.
Further details about her second child and family life may emerge in future interviews or public appearances.
