Jenny Marrs is calling out what she describes as “fake news” after discovering false and alarming reports circulating online about herself and her husband, Dave Marrs. The Fixer to Fabulous star addressed the issue directly on Instagram on Wednesday, January 7, urging fans to be cautious about what they see shared on Facebook and other platforms.
“Quick reminder that anything posted on Facebook NOT on my official page is most likely completely and totally made up,” Marrs wrote via her Instagram Story. She clarified that she only posts updates on her verified Instagram account and typically cross-shares them to her official Facebook page.
Marrs explained that several fake pages have been impersonating her, HGTV, or legitimate news outlets. According to her, some of these pages have gone as far as publishing AI-generated images and fabricated stories about her family.
In a follow-up post, Marrs shared screenshots of her verified Facebook page alongside examples of the false reports. One image showed an AI-generated photo of Dave Marrs lying in a hospital bed.
“This is not a real photo of Dave,” she wrote bluntly. “And no, Dave has not been hospitalized.”
Another fabricated image showed the couple appearing to cry over a supposed family tragedy. “THIS IS AN AI PHOTO,” Marrs added, emphasizing that the content was entirely false.
Marrs revealed that the fake stories had caused genuine concern among friends and followers, with several people reaching out to check on the family’s well-being.
“I’ve had several friends check in after seeing these weird articles,” she wrote. To put rumors to rest, Marrs added, “He’s sitting next to me drinking coffee in front of the fire right now.”
She ended her message with a clear rule for fans: “If I didn’t share it, assume it’s a lie. And if it’s a really horrible photo—usually of me crying—assume it’s AI. I’ve never posted a crying photo. And never would for clicks.”
Despite addressing the misinformation, Marrs also shared positive updates from her personal and professional life. On the same day, she posted behind-the-scenes photos from the latest episode of Fixer to Fabulous, which aired Tuesday night on HGTV. She also shared family photos and videos from a winter getaway in Switzerland, where she and Dave are spending time with their five children following the holidays in Italy.
Earlier this month, Marrs reflected on a difficult 2025 for her family, marked by personal loss and grief. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she explained that their recent travel was an intentional effort to focus on healing and togetherness.
“After a year of immense loss and grief for our family, we have chosen to be more intentional than ever with our most precious resource: time,” she wrote.
As online misinformation and AI-generated content become increasingly common, Marrs’ message serves as a reminder to verify sources—and trust only what comes directly from the people involved.
