Marvel Rivals is celebrating its first anniversary with a massive content drop that went live on November 27, 2025. The update brings free rewards, a new chaotic game mode, and special cosmetics, marking a milestone for the superhero team-based shooter.
According to developer NetEase, the anniversary patch is a way to thank players for their support during the game’s first year. The event, titled Rivals’ Day 2025, is structured in multiple phases and offers a mix of free Units, exclusive costumes, and returning content.
Players can earn a total of 2,500 free Units through various activities:
The highlight of the event is Jeff’s Break Time, where players can unlock a free Business Shark costume for fan-favorite character Jeff the Land Shark. A premium upgrade path also introduces new costumes for the Fantastic Four, expanding the cosmetic lineup.
The update introduces Annihilation, a brand-new 18 versus 18 Domination mode set on the Grand Garden map. This marks the largest player count in Marvel Rivals history, promising chaotic and fast-paced battles that push teamwork and strategy to the limit.
For players who missed out on earlier rewards, the Season 1 Battle Pass has returned for a limited time. Available until December 11, 2025, it allows newcomers to collect cosmetics and items from the game’s inaugural season.
This addition ensures that newer players can catch up on exclusive content while veterans revisit early rewards.
Coinciding with the holiday season, Marvel Rivals is also running a Black Friday sale. The in-game store features a unique coupon system, where each purchase increases the discount on the next. Eligible items include all cosmetics from Season 3 and earlier, giving players a chance to expand their collections at reduced prices.
The anniversary update delivers substantial free content and discounts, reinforcing Marvel Rivals’ commitment to its community. By combining free Units, exclusive costumes, and large-scale gameplay innovations, the patch sets the tone for the game’s second year.
With Jeff the Land Shark’s quirky new look, the return of classic rewards, and the introduction of the largest mode yet, Marvel Rivals continues to evolve as one of the most dynamic superhero shooters on the market.
