Influencer McKenna Barry Shares Pregnancy Loss After 6½ Years of Trying to Conceive

Influencer McKenna Barry has announced that she experienced a miscarriage, just weeks after sharing that she was expecting her first child with her husband, Brian Barry. The news was shared on December 15 through her Instagram and TikTok accounts, where Barry posted a deeply personal message reflecting on grief, hope, and loss.

The announcement comes after more than six and a half years of trying to conceive, a journey Barry has openly discussed with her followers.

“Our World Came Crashing Down”

In her statement, Barry described the emotional devastation of losing the pregnancy shortly after publicly celebrating it.

“Our world came crashing down last night as our little one decided it wasn’t time to join us yet,” she wrote. “No words are adequate enough to describe the depth of heartache we are drowning in.”

Barry acknowledged the pain of allowing herself to feel joy after such a long wait, noting that the grief she feels now reflects how deeply the pregnancy was cherished.

“Our baby was celebrated and so, so wanted for every moment we knew they existed,” she added.

A Message to Her Baby

In one of the most emotional portions of her post, Barry directly addressed her unborn child, expressing both sorrow and love.

“You were the smallest thing I’ve ever seen, but the hole you left is infinite,” she wrote. “We’re going to miss you—miss dreaming of a life with you.”

Barry shared that while she never had the chance to hold her baby, she finds comfort in her faith as she processes the loss.

Stepping Away From Social Media

Barry also revealed that she will be taking time away from social media to grieve privately with her husband.

She said the break is necessary as they navigate the emotional aftermath together, away from public platforms where she has built a large following.

A Long-Awaited Pregnancy

Earlier this month, Barry announced her pregnancy with visible emotion in a video shared online. In the caption, she explained that she initially saw a faint positive test and hesitated to believe it was real until confirming with a digital test.

“This was such a precious moment for me,” she wrote at the time. “I was the only person in the world who knew.”

Barry described feeling shock and gratitude when she saw the word “pregnant,” emphasizing how meaningful the moment was after years of waiting.

“This was FINALLY happening for us after 6½ years,” she wrote, calling the experience overwhelming in the best way.

Community Response

Barry’s announcement has prompted an outpouring of support from followers and fellow creators, many of whom shared messages of sympathy and personal stories of loss. Her openness has resonated with others navigating infertility and pregnancy loss, topics that remain difficult for many to discuss publicly.

While Barry has not indicated when she plans to return to social media, her message made clear that healing and privacy are her priorities.

As she steps back, her story adds to a broader conversation about miscarriage, infertility, and the emotional toll of long journeys toward parenthood.
