Actor Miles Teller was joined by his grandmother Leona Flowers at the opening night of the SCAD Savannah Film Festival on Saturday, October 25, 2025. The event featured a screening of Teller’s latest film Eternity and honored him with the festival’s Distinguished Performance Award. The duo’s red carpet appearance, marked by a forehead kiss and hand-holding, highlighted their close bond and longstanding tradition of attending the festival together.
Flowers, a familiar face at the event since 2010, was joined by other family members including Teller’s sister Dana and several cousins.
Miles Teller attended the SCAD Savannah Film Festival on October 25, 2025, in Savannah, Georgia, for the screening of his film Eternity and to receive the Distinguished Performance Award. He was accompanied by his grandmother Leona Flowers, who has attended the festival with him for over a decade. The event celebrated Teller’s career and featured a family reunion, with loved ones supporting him on the red carpet.
Teller described the film as “highly original” and “tenderhearted,” comparing it to romantic comedies from the ‘80s and ‘90s. He emphasized its emotional depth, saying,
“Even though it’s a comedy… those questions are deep, and you have to treat them with respect.”
Teller told PEOPLE:
“I brought [Leona] to the festival in like 2010… She’s been, I think, [for] 13 years. She’s only missed two.”
Leona Flowers posted on X ahead of the event:
“Happily anticipating attending the Savannah Film Festival where Miles’ latest film ETERNITY is the opening night event… A joy for me.”
Dana Teller called her grandmother “the mayor of the festival” in an Instagram Story, celebrating her presence and support.
Receiving the Distinguished Performance Award marks a significant milestone in Teller’s career, which includes acclaimed roles in Whiplash, Top Gun: Maverick, and The Spectacular Now. His family’s presence, especially Flowers’ long-standing support, adds emotional weight to the recognition.
The event also reinforces Teller’s connection to SCAD and the Savannah community, where he’s become a festival favorite.
Eternity is scheduled for theatrical release on November 26, 2025, with promotional appearances expected in New York and Los Angeles. Teller may also attend the upcoming Gotham Awards, where the film is rumored to be a contender.
Fans can anticipate more interviews and behind-the-scenes content as the film rolls out nationwide.
