A Thai court has issued an arrest warrant for Jakkaphong “Anne” Jakrajutatip, the high-profile co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization and founder of JKN Global Group. The warrant was confirmed on November 26, after she failed to appear at a scheduled court hearing linked to an ongoing 2023 fraud case.
The Bangkok South District Court ruled that her absence, without prior notice, indicates she could be a flight risk. Jakrajutatip had previously been released on bail and was expected to attend the hearing on November 25.
The warrant stems from a case filed by Raweewat Maschamadol, who alleges that Jakrajutatip and her company defrauded him through the sale of corporate bonds, reportedly involving more than 30 million baht — approximately $930,000 USD.
Court officials stated that Jakrajutatip provided no explanation or communication regarding her failure to attend the hearing. As a result, the judge ordered the warrant to ensure she appears before the court.
Although JKN Global Group recently announced that Jakrajutatip had stepped down from her executive leadership roles, she remains the company’s largest shareholder. The company released a statement denying rumors that she had left Thailand.
The legal development arrives during a turbulent period for the Miss Universe Organization, which has faced a series of controversies in recent weeks.
Just days prior to the arrest warrant, 2025 fourth runner-up Olivia Yacé announced her resignation from her title. In a public statement on Instagram, Yacé said she chose to step back to remain true to her values of dignity, respect and equal opportunity.
Additionally, the newly crowned Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch Fernández addressed criticism from a pageant executive during the competition. She asserted that she refuses to be silenced and will continue to speak freely as she represents her country.
The combination of resignations, public disputes and now a legal battle involving its co-owner places the Miss Universe Organization under intense scrutiny. The arrest warrant adds further instability at a time when the brand is attempting to rebuild momentum following the crowning of its latest winner.
Legal experts suggest the court may move to summon Jakrajutatip again if she returns to Thailand, or request cooperation from foreign authorities depending on her travel status.
Her legal team has not issued a direct response regarding the warrant. The situation remains fluid, and observers expect further developments in the coming weeks as the case progresses.
The case underscores the growing strain within the Miss Universe enterprise, which has faced financial challenges since JKN Global Group acquired the pageant in 2022.
For now, the arrest warrant represents a critical turning point — one that casts a shadow over the global pageant during what is normally its most celebratory season.
