Nashville Star Isabelle Tate’s Cause of Death has been revealed following her sudden passing at just 23 years old. Tate, who recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and earned her first acting role in 9-1-1: Nashville, died on October 19. Her agency, The McCray Agency, confirmed she suffered from a rare form of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, a progressive neuromuscular disorder. The actress died peacefully, with her family requesting privacy during this difficult time.
Tate’s obituary confirmed her passing on October 19. She had only recently begun her acting career, landing the role of Julie in the pilot episode of 9-1-1: Nashville. In the episode, she portrayed a wheelchair-using character opposite Hunter McVey’s “Blue.”
Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, according to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, is a rare inherited disorder that causes muscle weakness, sensory loss, and mobility challenges. Tate’s agency encouraged donations to the CMTA in her memory.
The McCray Agency shared: “We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She was 23. She booked the first series she auditioned for, 9-1-1: Nashville, and had a wonderful time.”
Actor Hunter McVey, who worked with Tate on the pilot, told PEOPLE: “I didn’t know Isabelle prior to filming, but I couldn’t have asked for someone better to work with. She had such a great energy and brought joy to a lot of people.”
Tate’s death is a significant loss for the young cast of 9-1-1: Nashville. Her performance in the pilot was praised for its authenticity and warmth. The tragedy also brings renewed attention to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, which has affected other public figures, including country music legend Alan Jackson.
Her passing underscores the challenges faced by young actors navigating health struggles while pursuing their careers.
Producers of 9-1-1: Nashville are expected to include a tribute to Tate in an upcoming episode. Memorial services will be held privately, with her family requesting donations to the CMTA in lieu of flowers.
