Niall Horan Says Amelia Woolley Inspired His New Album

Niall Horan is opening up about the inspiration behind his upcoming fourth studio album — his longtime girlfriend, Amelia Woolley. In a new interview with Capital Breakfast, the former One Direction star revealed that his relationship with Woolley began at a dinner party years ago, a moment that sparked his latest single, Dinner Party.

“This was the song that I was like, ‘OK, this is where the album starts from here,’” Horan explained. “Because my relationship started on the night that this song is about. That dinner party became a bigger thing than just sitting around, getting drunk and having a bit of food. It’s become the next six years of my life and hopefully the rest of it.”

The Single That Changed Everything

Horan first wrote Dinner Party last summer while renting a house in Surrey, England. He announced earlier this month that the track will drop on March 20. “This song is about a really happy and big moment in my life,” he shared on social media. “An evening at a simple dinner party that changed the course of my life.”

Album Details

The yet-to-be-titled album will be Horan’s first since 2023’s The Show, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. His previous solo records — Flicker (2017) and Heartbreak Weather (2020) — also charted in the top five, with Flicker reaching No. 1.

Fan Connection

Ahead of the single’s release, fans spotted Horan buying drinks for patrons at restaurants named Dinner Party in Brooklyn and Met Him At a Bar in Los Angeles, a playful nod to the song’s theme.

Looking Ahead

With Dinner Party serving as the nucleus for his new record, Horan says the album will explore the moments of his relationship with Woolley. For fans, it promises to be his most personal and romantic project yet.
