Nick Viall, the former Bachelor lead, is no longer living up to his reality TV title. The season 21 star married Natalie Joy in April 2024, after a whirlwind romance that began in the most modern way possible—through Instagram DMs.
Joy first reached out to Viall in September 2019 with a simple message: “You’re unreal.” Though Viall rarely responded to direct messages, he was intrigued. Their online exchange quickly turned into a relationship, despite living across the country from one another.
After three years of dating, Viall proposed in 2023. The couple welcomed their first child, daughter River Rose, in February 2024, and tied the knot two months later at Joy’s family farm in Savannah, Georgia. Their wedding blended black-tie elegance with rustic charm, attended by Bachelor Nation friends including Jared Haibon, Ashley Iaconetti, and Ben Higgins.
Now, the couple is expecting twin girls after experiencing three miscarriages in 2025. Viall shared his excitement on his podcast, The Viall Files, saying, “Two more little girls. Could not be more excited.”
Joy grew up on a 300-acre farm in Georgia with six siblings. She pursued modeling in New York as a teenager before returning home to finish school. Later, she earned a degree in surgical technology and worked in reconstructive and ocular surgery before moving to Los Angeles to be with Viall.
Despite an 18-year age gap, the couple says their goals aligned. “We realized we were on the same stages of life and we were ready for the same things,” Joy explained.
Joy has become a fixture on The Viall Files podcast, bringing what Viall calls “an element of coolness” to the show. Together, they also co-host Netflix’s Age of Attraction, a dating series where contestants are matched without knowing each other’s ages. The concept resonates with the couple, who themselves faced scrutiny over their age difference.
