The 79th EE BAFTA Film Awards nominations were announced in London on Tuesday, with One Battle After Another leading the field with 14 nominations. The film, starring Benicio del Toro and Leonardo DiCaprio, dominated across categories including Best Film, Best Director, and multiple acting nods. Close behind was Sinners, which earned 13 nominations, while Hamnet and Marty Supreme each picked up 11 nominations. Other strong contenders include Frankenstein and Sentimental Value, both securing eight nominations.
BAFTA CEO Jane Millichip congratulated the nominees, highlighting the diversity of films recognized. “This year’s nominated films are full of bold storytelling and exquisite craft. The breadth of narrative, genres and styles is spellbinding,” she said. Millichip added that she hopes first-time nominees enjoy the spotlight as much as returning veterans.

The Best Actor nominees include Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), Ethan Hawke (Blue Moon), Michael B. Jordan (Sinners), Jesse Plemons (Bugonia), and Robert Aramayo (I Swear).
For Best Actress, nominees are Jessie Buckley (Hamnet), Rose Byrne (If I Had Legs I’d Kick You), Kate Hudson (Song Sung Blue), Chase Infiniti (One Battle After Another), Renate Reinsve (Sentimental Value), and Emma Stone (Bugonia).
Supporting categories also feature standout names such as Paul Mescal (Hamnet), Sean Penn (One Battle After Another), Benicio del Toro (One Battle After Another), Carey Mulligan (The Ballad of Wallis Island), and Emily Watson (Hamnet).
The BAFTA Film Awards will be broadcast live on the BBC on February 22, 2026, celebrating excellence in filmmaking and setting the stage for the Oscars.
