Netflix has officially announced that “One Piece” Season 2 will debut on March 10, 2026, marking the return of one of its most popular live-action anime adaptations. The series, starring Iñaki Godoy, Emily Rudd, Mackenyu, Jacob Romero Gibson, and Taz Skylar, will continue the Straw Hat Pirates’ adventures as they set sail “Into the Grand Line.”
The new season promises larger-scale adventures, expanded world-building, and high-stakes character growth. Filming took place in Cape Town, South Africa, featuring visually rich locations like Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whisky Peak, Little Garden, and the Drum Kingdom.
Season 2 of One Piece picks up after the crew’s iconic barrel pledge, leading them into the perilous Grand Line, a sea where danger and discovery await.
According to Netflix’s Tudum update, fans can expect new fantastical environments — from snowy castles to mysterious giants and dinosaurs. Showrunner Joe Tracz described the upcoming season as a significant expansion in both visual scale and storytelling ambition.
“Everything gets bigger. We are going to see giants and dinosaurs. We end up in the belly of a whale,” said Tracz. “Every island challenges the Straw Hats in a unique way, testing their dreams and loyalty.”
The production team recreated the Drum Kingdom using elaborate set design and artificial snow to simulate a winter environment, despite filming during the South African summer.
“It tricks your brain,” Tracz shared. “You’d get to set and feel like you should be cold because of all the fake snow everywhere.”
Returning cast members have expressed enthusiasm about revisiting their characters with deeper emotional arcs and grander visual sequences, reflecting the anime’s most beloved storylines.
The live-action One Piece became one of Netflix’s biggest streaming successes of 2023, drawing acclaim for its faithful adaptation and global fan engagement. The second season’s expansion into the Grand Line is expected to strengthen Netflix’s anime-based franchise lineup and attract both new viewers and dedicated manga fans.
With massive production value and character-driven storytelling, Season 2 aims to solidify One Piece as the most successful live-action anime adaptation to date.
One Piece Season 1 remains available for streaming on Netflix. Season 2 will premiere globally on March 10, 2026. While Netflix has not confirmed additional seasons, producers have hinted that the story could span multiple installments, potentially adapting major arcs from Eiichiro Oda’s original manga.
