Jackie Siegel, widely known as the “Queen of Versailles,” has revealed a rare first look inside her massive 90,000-square-foot Florida mansion, a project more than two decades in the making. The long-delayed estate, inspired by the Palace of Versailles, has been under construction since 2004 and remains one of the largest private homes in the United States. Siegel shared new photos and construction updates while discussing the upcoming Broadway musical based on her life. The reveal marks the most significant progress report on the property since her late husband David Siegel’s death in April 2025. The mansion, nearing completion, is now entering its final finishing phase.
Jackie Siegel’s Versailles mansion, located on Lake Butler near Orlando, Florida, spans 90,000 square feet and features 14 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, five kitchens, a 35-car garage, a British-style pub, and a 150-person event hall. Inspired by France’s iconic Palace of Versailles and the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, the home has been a symbol of extreme luxury and prolonged construction challenges.
Siegel’s newly shared photos reveal a grand interior with gold-detailed ceilings, dual staircases, floor-to-ceiling windows, and a massive central chandelier. While much of the structure is complete, several finishing components—including custom railings—remain delayed due to international taxes and shipping issues.
The project originally paused during the 2008 financial crash, resuming slowly after the Siegels regained financial stability in 2013. With David Siegel’s passing in 2025, Jackie now leads the final stages of the project, describing it as her husband’s “ultimate dream home.”
Speaking to The Independent, Siegel said she has rarely been allowed to share interior photos due to PR planning around the mansion’s official unveiling.
“I really haven’t been allowed to show anyone. I think they want to save it for the grand reveal,” Siegel said.
“But I will show you a little sneak peek.”
She also explained the delay in receiving the main staircase railings:
“My railings are in China and the taxes are so high right now. I’m going to have to pay two or three times the amount.”
Reflecting on her late husband, she added:
“This was his baby. He wanted to have the biggest house. Now he’s here as my guardian angel.”
The Queen of Versailles estate has become a cultural touchpoint thanks to the 2012 documentary The Queen of Versailles and the 2022 series Queen of Versailles Reigns Again. The mansion’s prolonged construction has symbolized America’s fascination with wealth, extravagance, and resilience through financial cycles.
The new Broadway musical, premiering this winter, is expected to further increase public interest in the Siegel story. The interior reveal may boost media coverage, press engagement, and tourism curiosity surrounding the iconic estate.
An official grand reveal of the completed mansion is expected in 2026, pending the arrival of remaining imported materials. The Broadway musical adaptation of The Queen of Versailles will open previews next month, with Jackie Siegel participating in promotional events. Additional behind-the-scenes photos of the mansion may be released closer to the show’s premiere.
