Rihanna is marking a major career milestone. On January 28, the superstar celebrated the 10th anniversary of her eighth studio album, ANTI, with a nostalgic Instagram tribute and a wave of new certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The 37-year-old singer shared an Instagram Reel filled with highlights from the ANTI era. The video opened with the definition of “anti” as “a person opposed to a particular policy, activity or idea,” before cutting to rehearsal footage and clips from her 2016 tour.
Text over the video reminded fans that ANTI remains “the longest charting album by a Black female artist.” Songs like “Needed Me,” “Kiss It Better,” and “Work” played throughout the montage, while Rihanna expressed gratitude to the team who helped her craft the record. She captioned the post: “my 2016 post wins. happy ANTIversary .”
To mark the anniversary, the RIAA announced new certifications for nine tracks from the album. “Love on the Brain” reached 12x Platinum, while “Needed Me” and “Work” featuring Drake hit 11x Platinum.
Other tracks also earned major milestones:
These certifications extend Rihanna’s record as the female artist with the most Diamond singles in RIAA history. Her Diamond-certified hits include “Umbrella,” “Diamonds,” “Stay,” “We Found Love” with Calvin Harris, and “Love the Way You Lie” with Eminem.
Released in January 2016, ANTI was Rihanna’s last full-length album. Over the past decade, she has occasionally dropped singles and collaborated with other artists, but fans have been eagerly awaiting her ninth studio project.
In a 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna revealed she had “cracked the code” on the sound of her next album. She promised it would not be “commercial or radio digestible,” but instead reflect where her artistry belongs now. “This much time away from music needs to count,” she said. “I cannot put up anything mediocre.”
Ten years later, ANTI continues to resonate with audiences worldwide. Its blend of R&B, pop, and experimental sounds cemented Rihanna’s reputation as a risk-taking artist unafraid to challenge expectations. With new certifications and a fresh wave of nostalgia, the album’s legacy remains stronger than ever.
