Robert Irwin Suffers Rib Injury Ahead of DWTS Finale

The Season 34 finale of Dancing with the Stars is here, but fan-favorite Robert Irwin is heading into the competition with an injury. Partnered with Witney Carson, Irwin is vying for the coveted Mirrorball Trophy against Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Olympian Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, and actress Elaine Hendrix with Alan Bersten.

Setback Before the Finale

In a TikTok video, Carson revealed that Irwin has been struggling with rib pain during rehearsals. “Robert’s ribs have been killing him,” she explained, noting that more details will be revealed during the finale.

Carson admitted she had to adjust their freestyle routine to keep Irwin safe. “It’s just honestly the most stressful part because this is just getting it all together, and it’s gonna take some time,” she said.

Dedication Despite Challenges

This isn’t the first mishap for the duo. During rehearsals, Carson lost a chunk of her real hair while practicing their freestyle. Despite the setbacks, she praised the season as “the biggest gift” and expressed gratitude for the journey.

Carson also noted Irwin’s determination, saying he will likely rehearse until the very last second before the finale.

Rib Injuries a Recurring Theme

Irwin isn’t the only contestant to face rib issues this season. Elaine Hendrix previously injured her rib and was unable to perform during Halloween Week.
