Roman Griffin Davis, best known for his breakout role in Taika Waititi’s Jojo Rabbit, has joined the voice cast of Wonderland, a new animated feature from Polish studio Lightcraft. He will star opposite Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, who was previously announced as part of the project.
The film, formerly titled Dreamworld, is directed by Daniel Markowicz and Maks Naporowski, with production underway for a planned 2026 release.
In Wonderland, Davis voices Jake, a 12-year-old boy who journeys with his friend Jenny through the world of dreams. Along the way, they encounter mysterious creatures known as Vagapulga, setting the stage for a fantastical adventure.
Markowicz praised Davis’ casting, noting: “From the outset, Roman showed a strong understanding of Jake and the emotional logic of the story. That made him a natural fit for the role.”
Davis rose to prominence with Jojo Rabbit (2019), earning critical acclaim and a Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer. Since then, he has built a diverse résumé:
Wonderland is co-directed by Daniel Markowicz and Maks Naporowski, with executive producers Paulina Nowak, Derakhshani, and Michael Roesch attached to the project.
With Davis joining the cast, Wonderland continues to build anticipation as one of the notable animated releases slated for 2026. Fans of both Davis and Mikkelsen will be watching closely for updates on the film’s official release date and further casting announcements.
