Moving Forward After Separation

Television personality Ruth Langsford has spoken candidly about her life following her separation from broadcaster Eamonn Holmes. The pair, married for 27 years, announced their split in May 2024, marking a difficult chapter for Langsford.

Now, more than a year later, she says she feels a renewed sense of optimism. “Before, I saw darkness and was thinking, ‘Oh my God, what’s going to happen?’ But now the fear is gone,” she shared.

A New Chapter at 65

As she approaches her 65th birthday, Langsford describes herself as entering a new phase of life. She emphasizes resilience and independence, noting, “I will survive.”

Despite the challenges of her marriage ending, she insists she has not been discouraged from future relationships. “I haven’t been put off having a relationship. I haven’t even been put off marriage. But I’m definitely not actively looking,” she explained.

Langsford added that she has discovered contentment in solitude: “I’ve realized I’m actually quite good on my own.”

The Role of Therapy and Support

Counseling has been central to Langsford’s recovery. She began therapy during her separation and continues to value its impact. “Counseling is very powerful and very useful. It gives me tools to deal with things,” she said, crediting the sessions with helping her regain clarity.

She also praised her colleagues on ITV’s Loose Women for their support, recalling how their solidarity helped her cope not only with her separation but also with the loss of her sister in 2019. “Going back to Loose Women, I felt very supported by all,” she reflected.

Looking Ahead With Confidence

Langsford now views her future with excitement rather than fear. Her journey highlights resilience, self-discovery, and the importance of community. As she continues to embrace independence, she remains open to the possibility of new love while focusing on personal growth.
