Samsung Rolls Out November 2025 Security Update for Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung has officially begun the global rollout of its November 2025 security update for the Galaxy S24 lineup. The patch, which first debuted in South Korea last week, is now reaching users in the United States and Europe. This update is particularly significant as it arrives shortly after the Galaxy S24 series received its major upgrade to Android 16 and One UI 8.0.

First Security Patch After Android 16 Upgrade

The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra were recently upgraded to Android 16, bringing new features, performance improvements, and a refreshed interface. The November patch is the first security update since that transition, ensuring that the new operating system and Samsung’s One UI software layer remain protected against emerging threats.

According to the Android Security Bulletin, the update delivers critical fixes for vulnerabilities affecting both the Android core and Samsung’s proprietary software. These patches are designed to safeguard user data, prevent unauthorized access, and maintain overall device integrity.

Firmware Details and Installation Guide

The new firmware is identified by a version number ending in CYK2 for both US and European models. The download size is slightly over 450 MB, making it a relatively lightweight update compared to major OS upgrades.

Users can manually check for the update by navigating to: Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The installation process is straightforward and typically takes only a few minutes. Once installed, the device will reboot, applying the latest protections.

Enhanced Security for Exynos and Snapdragon Models

Samsung has confirmed that the November patch addresses approximately three dozen security vulnerabilities. These issues affected both the Android operating system and Samsung’s One UI layer. Importantly, the update includes chipset-specific fixes for the Exynos 2400, which powers most global Galaxy S24 models.

Snapdragon-powered variants, sold in select regions such as the United States, also benefit from improved protections. This dual focus ensures that all Galaxy S24 users, regardless of chipset, receive the same level of security.

Why This Update Matters

Smartphones are increasingly targeted by malicious actors, making timely security patches essential. By addressing vulnerabilities quickly, Samsung helps prevent exploits that could compromise sensitive data, including passwords, financial information, and personal communications.

The November update reinforces Samsung’s proactive approach to mobile security. It highlights the company’s commitment to maintaining user trust and protecting devices long after their initial release.
