You Won’t Believe Where the Original Scream Cast Is Now—30 Years Later!

When Wes Craven’s Scream premiered in 1996, it redefined horror with its meta storytelling and unforgettable characters. Thirty years later, the franchise is still alive, with Scream 7 hitting theaters on February 27, 2026. Fans will see familiar faces like Neve Campbell and Matthew Lillard return, alongside a new generation of stars. But what about the rest of the original cast?

Drew Barrymore – Casey Becker

Barrymore’s iconic opening scene remains one of horror’s most memorable. Since then, she’s starred in hits like Charlie’s Angels and 50 First Dates, launched her Flower beauty brand, and currently hosts her Emmy-winning daytime talk show.

Neve Campbell – Sidney Prescott

Campbell became the franchise’s ultimate “final girl.” Beyond Scream, she’s appeared in House of Cards and The Lincoln Lawyer. After skipping Scream VI due to a pay dispute, she’s back for Scream 7.

Courteney Cox – Gale Weathers

Already famous for Friends, Cox continued her career with Cougar Town and Shining Vale. She appeared in every Scream sequel and remains a fixture in Hollywood.

David Arquette – Dewey Riley

Arquette reprised Dewey across multiple sequels and explored producing, including his wrestling documentary You Cannot Kill David Arquette. He shares three children between his marriages to Courteney Cox and Christina McLarty.

Rose McGowan – Tatum Riley

McGowan’s gruesome death scene is unforgettable. She later starred in Charmed and Grindhouse but shifted focus to activism, becoming a leading voice in the #MeToo movement.

Skeet Ulrich – Billy Loomis

Ulrich shocked audiences as the original Ghostface killer. He’s since appeared in Jericho and Riverdale, and even returned for a cameo in Scream (2022).

Matthew Lillard – Stu Macher

Lillard’s manic performance made Stu a fan favorite. He went on to star in Scooby-Doo and became the official voice of Shaggy. He’s set to return in Scream 7, thrilling longtime fans.

Jamie Kennedy – Randy Meeks

Kennedy’s horror-obsessed Randy became a cult favorite. He’s worked steadily in comedy, film, and voice acting, and continues touring as a stand-up comedian.

Liev Schreiber – Cotton Weary

Schreiber expanded his career with acclaimed roles in Spotlight and Ray Donovan, earning multiple Emmy nominations and a Tony Award.

Henry Winkler – Principal Himbry

Though his role was brief, Winkler’s career flourished with Arrested Development and Barry, winning his first Emmy in 2018.

Roger L. Jackson – Ghostface (Voice)

Jackson’s chilling voice has defined Ghostface across films, TV, and video games. He remains the only actor to voice the villain, returning once again for Scream 7.
