Sister Sledge Announced as Final Act for Weston-super-Mare’s New Seaside Festival

Disco legends Sister Sledge have been confirmed as the final addition to the line-up for Summer Fest at the Beach, a new two-day seaside music festival set to take place in Weston-super-Mare this June. The event, scheduled for 6 and 7 June, will bring live music back to the town’s beachfront, reviving memories of the popular T4 on the Beach festival that ran between 2005 and 2012. Organizers hope the new festival will capture the same energy and draw large crowds to the seafront.

Full Line-Up Revealed

Joining Sister Sledge on stage will be a diverse mix of artists, including Craig David, Blue, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Madness, and Razorlight. The line-up blends pop, rock, and disco, aiming to appeal to a wide audience.

Festival founder Ian Rogers, who also runs Solihull Summer Fest, described the announcement as a milestone moment.

“Weston has a genuine history of hosting huge music moments,” Rogers said. “Announcing the final act and completing the line-up feels like a real moment for the town and the wider region. The reaction so far shows there’s a strong demand for something of this scale on the seafront again.”

Strong Ticket Demand

Organizers reported that more than 46,000 people have registered interest in attending the festival. Already, 15,000 tickets have been sold for the first day, signaling strong demand and enthusiasm for the event. The seaside town has a proven track record of hosting large-scale music events. T4 on the Beach regularly attracted tens of thousands of fans before ending in 2013 due to declining ticket sales. With Summer Fest at the Beach, organizers hope to restore Weston-super-Mare’s reputation as a major live music destination.

Sister Sledge’s Legacy

Sister Sledge, best known for hits such as We Are Family and He’s the Greatest Dancer, bring a touch of disco glamour to the line-up. Their addition completes a roster designed to celebrate both nostalgia and contemporary music. With anticipation building, the festival promises to be one of the biggest seaside music events in the UK this summer.
