‘Snow White,’ ‘War of the Worlds’ Lead 2026 Razzie Awards Nominations

Hollywood’s fascination with remakes has once again drawn the ire of the Golden Raspberry Awards. Disney’s live-action Snow White, starring Rachel Zegler, and War of the Worlds, a modern retelling of H.G. Wells’ sci-fi classic featuring Ice Cube, lead the 46th Razzie Awards with six nominations each.

Worst Picture Contenders

Both films are nominated for the Razzies’ top dishonor, worst picture. They face competition from The Weeknd’s musical drama Hurry Up Tomorrow, Paramount+ franchise entry Star Trek: Section 31, and Netflix’s sci-fi adventure The Electric State starring Chris Pratt. The “winners” will be announced on March 14, the night before the Academy Awards.

Acting Categories Spotlight Big Names

Ice Cube earned a worst actor nomination for War of the Worlds, joining Dave Bautista (In the Lost Lands), Scott Eastwood (Alarum), Jared Leto (Tron: Ares), and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye (Hurry Up Tomorrow). The worst actress category features Oscar winners Ariana DeBose (Love Hurts) and Michelle Yeoh (Star Trek: Section 31), alongside Milla Jovovich (In the Lost Lands), Natalie Portman (Fountain of Youth), and Rebel Wilson (Bride Hard).

Supporting Roles and Screen Combos

Sylvester Stallone, a frequent Razzie nominee, is up for worst supporting actor for Alarum. His daughter Scarlet Rose Stallone earned a worst supporting actress nod for Gunslingers. Nicolas Cage also appears in the supporting actor category for Gunslingers. The worst screen combo category includes James Corden and Rihanna (Smurfs), Ice Cube and his Zoom camera (War of the Worlds), Robert De Niro and Robert De Niro (The Alto Knights), The Weeknd and “his colossal ego” (Hurry Up Tomorrow), and the seven dwarves from Snow White.

Remakes and Sequels Under Fire

The Razzies also targeted sequels and reboots. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, I Know What You Did Last Summer, Smurfs, Snow White, and War of the Worlds are all nominated for worst remake/ripoff/sequel.

Directors and Screenplays Criticized

Marc Webb (Snow White), Rich Lee (War of the Worlds), Olatunde Osunsanmi (Star Trek: Section 31), Trey Edward Shults (Hurry Up Tomorrow), and the Russo Brothers (The Electric State) are competing for worst director. Meanwhile, all five worst picture nominees also appear in the worst screenplay category, underscoring the Razzie voters’ disdain for their storytelling.

Satirical Tradition Continues

The Golden Raspberry Awards, founded in 1981, annually “honor” the worst in cinema with tongue-in-cheek trophies. While often criticized, the Razzies remain a pop culture staple, reminding Hollywood that not every blockbuster or star-studded project escapes ridicule.
