‘যে রাঁধে সে চুলও বাঁধে’ এই প্রবাদ বাক্য কে একেবারে সত্যি করে তুলে ধরলেন বাঙ্গালী কন্যা সুপর্ণা মুখোপাধ্যায়। তিনি পেশায় একজন শিক্ষাবিদ, সাথে দুই সন্তানের মা। পেশা শিক্ষাবিদ হওয়া সত্বেও গতানুগতিক পেশার পেশায় না গিয়ে তিনি মিস ইউনিভার্সের মঞ্চে যাচ্ছেন, এবার নিজেকে খানিকটা পরখ করে নেওয়া।
এই চেষ্টা তিনি অনেকদিন আগে থেকেই করছেন। এই বছর তিনি ৯০ প্রতিযোগীর মধ্যে একমাত্র বাঙালি ফাইনালিস্ট। তার ছোট্ট ১৪ বছরের কন্যার উৎসাহী তার এত বড় মঞ্চে যাওয়া, এমনটাই জানালেন এই বঙ্গতনয়া।
আগামী ২২ তারিখ থেকে শুরু হবে এই প্রতিযোগিতা। টানা ১১ দিন ধরে প্রতিযোগিতা চলার পরে ফাইনালিস্ট কে তার নাম ঘোষণা করা হবে। চীনের গুয়াংঝাউ তে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এই প্রতিযোগিতা। বঙ্গ তনয়া প্রমাণ করে দিয়েছে কিভাবে সংসার করে, পড়াশোনা করেও এমন গ্ল্যামারাস জগতেও নিজেকে প্রতিষ্ঠিত করা যায়।
