Anime fans who missed Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc in theaters won’t have to wait long to experience one of 2025’s most emotional releases at home. Following its major box-office run and global fan response, Sony Pictures has officially announced a home-viewing rollout — starting sooner than expected.
The movie, which adapts the highly beloved “Reze Arc” from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga, continues directly from Season 1 rather than serving as a filler side story. That makes it essential viewing for fans waiting for Chainsaw Man Season 2.
Sony confirmed that Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc will be available via PVOD (Premium Video on Demand) on December 9, 2025. Both subbed and dubbed versions will be offered for rental or purchase on major digital platforms including:
Apple TV
Prime Video
Fandango at Home
Google Play
YouTube Movies
This allows fans to revisit the story from home — including Denji’s heartbreaking romance with Reze and the explosive arrival of the Bomb Devil, which dramatically shifts the tone of the film.
Because the movie is distributed through a partnership between Sony Pictures Releasing and Crunchyroll, fans can expect a Crunchyroll streaming release within the next few months. No exact date has been announced yet, but the traditional release window suggests it may arrive early 2026, following the standard sequence of theatrical, digital, and then streaming.
Crunchyroll currently hosts Season 1 of Chainsaw Man, so the transition should be seamless for subscribers.
At launch, the PVOD version does not include bonus features, making it a straightforward digital release. However, given Crunchyroll’s pattern with recent major titles, a Blu-ray/4K physical release is highly likely later in 2026. These editions often include behind-the-scenes content, interviews, and collectible packaging — strong incentives for dedicated collectors.
2025 has proven to be an exceptional year for anime cinema, with Reze Arc joining titles like:
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle
100 Meters
The Rose of Versailles
While Demon Slayer fans await their home release, Chainsaw Man viewers now get first access to revisit what many are calling the most devastating and beautifully animated anime film of the year.
With romance, emotional trauma, world-building, and brutal action, the movie sets the stage for what’s next — although Season 2 remains at least a year or two away.
