Marvel Rivals Adds Pym Test Kitchen Feature, Letting Players Shrink or Grow on Times Square Map

Player interacting with Pym Test Kitchen booth to trigger size shift

Marvel Rivals players just got a surprise mechanic tied directly to Ant-Man lore. The new Pym Test Kitchen booth appeared in the game’s Times Square map this week, fueling speculation that a future hero reveal could be on the way. The feature allows players to interact with the booth and consume a “Pym-Ini Sandwich,” triggering size-shifting effects that dramatically transform gameplay.

The addition arrives during Season 6, which already spotlights Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone. While developer Netease has not confirmed Ant-Man’s arrival, the feature’s branding and mechanics reference Hank Pym’s iconic scientific breakthrough from Marvel canon.

How the Pym Test Kitchen Works

After loading into the party hub, players will find the booth to the right of the Van Dyne’s Fashion Boutique sign. Approaching the glowing kiosk prompts an interaction option. Accepting the prompt offers the player a Pym-Ini Sandwich.

Once consumed, the sandwich randomly enlarges or shrinks the character model. The transformation varies in degree each time, with some players ballooning into towering figures and others shrinking down to miniature scale. The size changes can alter line-of-sight visibility, hitboxes, and mobility, creating playful and unexpected combat interactions across the map.

There is no option to choose enlargement or shrinkage before consuming the sandwich. Instead, the feature operates like a random buff. After eating one sandwich, players must wait one hour before another appears at the booth.

Why Players Believe Ant-Man Is Coming

The Pym branding suggests a deliberate tease toward size-shifting gameplay. In the comics and Marvel Cinematic Universe, Dr. Hank Pym pioneered the technology that allowed Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne to take on Ant-Man and Wasp identities.

This isn’t the first time Marvel Rivals has hinted at future heroes through mechanics and map updates. Netease has used seasonal events and environmental storytelling to foreshadow upcoming roster additions.

Players note that introducing a size-altering feature before rolling out a full hero kit offers a safe testing ground, potentially allowing the studio to refine systems before they become core combat mechanics.

A Playground for Experimental Powerups

The Pym Test Kitchen functions as a limited-use feature rather than a persistent upgrade. However, players can return to the booth for repeated size shifts once the cooldown expires. Given the social nature of the map hub, the booth has quickly become a community meet-up point for clips, memes, and unexpected interactions.

Creators already share footage of giant characters stomping playfully across Times Square or miniature models scaling ramps and hiding under props. As Marvel Rivals continues iterating on seasonal events, fans expect additional experimental powerups linked to other heroes’ iconic gadgets.

For now, Netease has not commented on future hero announcements. But between the Pym branding, the mechanics, and new in-game assets, anticipation for an Ant-Man reveal is growing across the community.
