Amy Poehler will be honored with the prestigious Peabody Career Achievement Award at the 86th annual Peabody Awards ceremony, set to take place on May 31, 2026, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
Honoring a Remarkable Career
The Peabody Awards recognize media that “encourage empathy, champion public interest, and expand our comprehension of the world around us.” Poehler, a Golden Globe winner and beloved star of Saturday Night Live and Parks and Recreation, is being recognized for her exceptional body of work and creative contributions that have made a lasting impact on comedy and culture.
Currently, Poehler hosts the popular podcast Good Hang With Amy Poehler, further cementing her influence across multiple platforms. The Career Achievement Award celebrates her intelligence, humor, and fearless creativity, qualities that have shaped modern comedy and inspired audiences worldwide.
Other Honorees
The ceremony will also honor Sterlin Harjo, award-winning director, producer, and screenwriter, with the Peabody Trailblazer Award. PBS Kids will receive the Peabody Institutional Award for decades of groundbreaking educational programming.

Ceremony Details
The 86th edition of the Peabody Awards will celebrate achievements across entertainment, documentary, news, podcast/radio, arts, children’s and youth programming, immersive and interactive media, and public service. Nominees will be announced on April 7 and April 9, with winners revealed at the May 31 ceremony.
Last year’s winners included Shōgun, Baby Reindeer, and Ripley. This year’s event promises to highlight impactful storytelling and honor creators who continue to shape the media landscape.
