For most parents, a baby’s first words are usually “mama” or “dada.” But for Ylana Hersh, her 8‑month‑old daughter had something far more surprising to say: “Bad Bunny.”
The moment happened the morning after Super Bowl LX, when Hersh was playing Bad Bunny’s music in her kitchen. Out of nowhere, her daughter blurted out the reggaeton star’s name. Hersh recalls, “It completely caught me off guard, and we looked at each other like, ‘Did that really just happen?’”
Captured on Camera
Luckily, Hersh managed to capture the hilarious moment on video. She posted the clip to TikTok, expecting only a few friends to see it. Instead, the video went viral, racking up more than 8.1 million views.
The comments section exploded with memes and jokes, with fans calling it one of the funniest parenting clips of the year. Hersh says, “People have fully run with it. The comments are chaotic in the best way, and the memes keep getting funnier.”
A Calm Baby With Bold Words
Hersh describes her daughter as “super chill, easygoing, and happy to just take everything in.” That’s why moments like this stand out even more. “She has this calm, content personality, but every now and then she’ll surprise us with a burst of expression—like saying ‘Bad Bunny,’ apparently!”
Since then, the baby has added a few more words to her vocabulary, including “mama,” “dada,” and “no.” But Hersh admits that none of them have been quite as bold or memorable as “Bad Bunny.”
Viral Parenting Joy
The clip has become a reminder of how unpredictable and joyful parenting can be. Hersh says she wanted to share the laugh with others, and the internet responded in a big way. “It’s amazing how one spontaneous baby moment turned into something so many people connected with,” she adds. For Hersh and her family, the viral fame is just a bonus. The real joy lies in cherishing a once‑in‑a‑lifetime parenting memory that will be retold for years to come.
