Amazon Prime Video’s Invincible continues to surprise fans with its star-studded voice cast. Season 4 has added two familiar faces from Marvel’s Black Panther films — Danai Gurira and Winston Duke — in roles that expand the animated superhero universe.
Danai Gurira as Universa
The season premiere introduces Universa, voiced by Gurira. The extraterrestrial warrior arrives on Earth to siphon energy for her people’s survival. Gurira, best known as Okoye in Black Panther and Michonne in The Walking Dead, brings her commanding presence to the character. Her crossover into Invincible also highlights the show’s ties to Robert Kirkman’s Walking Dead universe, which has already featured Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Winston Duke as Space Racer
Episode 2 unveils Space Racer, voiced by Winston Duke. The character wields the Infinity Ray, a weapon capable of annihilating anything — even Viltrumites. Initially reluctant to join Omni-Man, Space Racer eventually considers aiding the fight against the powerful alien race. Duke, who plays M’Baku in Black Panther, adds another superhero role to his resume. He’s also set to appear as Wakanda’s leader in Avengers: Doomsday, signaling his growing prominence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Expanding Superhero Credentials
Both Gurira and Duke bring impressive superhero experience to Invincible. Gurira’s portrayal of strong, disciplined warriors has made her a fan favorite, while Duke’s versatility extends beyond Marvel — he even voiced Batman in the podcast series Batman Unburied. Their addition to Invincible underscores the show’s reputation for attracting high-profile talent.
Fan Excitement
The casting has sparked excitement among fans who enjoy spotting familiar voices in animated projects. With Gurira and Duke joining the ensemble, Season 4 continues to blend compelling storytelling with powerhouse performances. The first three episodes are now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, with more surprises expected as the season unfolds.
