Singer Chappell Roan gave a public shoutout to her security team during her performance at Lollapalooza Brazil on March 21, just hours after soccer star Jorginho accused her of mistreating his young daughter.
The Allegation
Jorginho, 34, claimed in a lengthy Instagram post that Roan’s security guard confronted his 11-year-old daughter, Ada Law, during breakfast at a São Paulo hotel. According to him, Ada simply walked past Roan’s table, smiled, and returned to sit with her mother, Catherine Harding. He alleged the guard then approached aggressively, accusing the child of “disrespect” and “harassment,” leaving her in tears.
Jorginho criticized the singer, writing, “Without your fans, you would be nothing. And to the fans, she does not deserve your affection.”
Roan’s Response on Stage
Later that night, Roan performed at Lollapalooza Brazil, where she thanked her crew, band, and security team. “I’m so grateful, so thank you, and thank you to my crew and my security and my band, and everyone behind the scenes,” she told the crowd. She did not directly address Jorginho’s claims.
Context and Background
Roan has previously spoken about maintaining boundaries with fans and paparazzi. Earlier this month, she criticized photographers for waiting outside a restaurant where she was dining, calling their behavior “harassment.”
The incident comes as Roan continues her global tour, with Lollapalooza Brazil featuring acts like Cypress Hill, Katseye, Lola Young, and Marina. Representatives for Roan and the Palácio Tangará hotel have not commented.
A Divisive Moment
The situation highlights the tension between celebrity privacy and fan enthusiasm. While Jorginho insists his daughter did nothing wrong, Roan’s emphasis on boundaries suggests she is determined to protect her personal space. Whether the incident was a misunderstanding or a misstep, it has sparked debate about how stars and their teams interact with young fans.
