The original Dancing With the Stars pros are back where it all began. For the first time in 20 years, the professional dancers from DWTS Season 1 have reunited — and fans are absolutely losing it over the nostalgia.
On Sunday, November 9, longtime pro Louis Van Amstel shared photos on Instagram from the group’s first rehearsal in two decades. Joining him were fellow OGs Edyta Śliwińska, Jonathan Roberts, Ashly DelGrosso, Charlotte Jørgensen, and Alec Mazo.
The reunion will culminate in a special opening number on Tuesday’s “20th Birthday Party” episode of Dancing With the Stars, airing live on ABC and Disney+.
“The first six are back together again,” Van Amstel captioned his post. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to be part of the 20th anniversary of Dancing With the Stars. The opening number is going to be epic. Thank you @derekhough for choreographing this amazing piece.”
Fans Are Feeling the Nostalgia
The post immediately lit up the comment section with excitement — and a flood of heart emojis.
“Louis, is the ponytail making a comeback for the opening number?! ” one fan joked, referencing his signature Season 1 look.
“As a viewer from day one — my heart needed this,” wrote another.
“It’s like seeing long-lost friends! You all look fantastic,” added a third.
Others couldn’t contain their excitement to see Charlotte Jørgensen again, calling her “Queen Charlotte the Great.”
The Anniversary Celebration
Tuesday’s episode will serve as a celebratory tribute to the show’s 20-year milestone. Six of the seven remaining contestants — minus top scorer Whitney Leavitt — will compete in a relay round with former Mirrorball Champions.
Van Amstel also teased that every pro and celebrity from all 33 seasons has been invited to the live taping.
Dancing With the Stars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, and streams the next day on Hulu.
