“It is with deep sorrow that we share that on the morning of November 25, 2025, Ethan Browne, the son of Jackson Browne and Phyllis Major, was found unresponsive in his home and has passed away,” the statement read. “We ask for privacy and respect for the family during this difficult time.”

Born November 2, 1973, in Los Angeles, California, Ethan Browne stepped into the spotlight as an infant when he appeared on the Rolling Stone cover with his father. Jackson Browne, now 77, rose to global fame through hit songs such as “Doctor, My Eyes,” “Rock Me on the Water,” and contributions to artists including Nico and Eagles.
Ethan pursued his own path in entertainment. In addition to modeling for renowned designers like Isaac Mizrahi, he appeared in the 1995 cult film Hackers, the 2004 romantic comedy Raising Helen, and an episode of Birds of Prey in 2002.
