Jenna Dewan has revealed that her upcoming wedding to fiancé Steve Kazee is becoming a true family affair—thanks in large part to her eldest child, Everly, who is playing an active role in planning the big day. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the 2025 Baby2Baby Holiday Distribution in Los Angeles, the actress and dancer shared that her 12-year-old daughter is “very much involved in the process” and has plenty of opinions about how the celebration should look and feel.
“She Has Input in Everything”
Dewan, 45, has been engaged to Kazee, 50, since February 2020. While the couple has yet to announce a wedding date, Dewan said the planning is finally moving closer to reality—and Everly is right there with her.
“She has input in everything and she really has opinions when it comes to this,” Dewan said. “So she’s very much involved in the process.”
Everly, whom Dewan shares with ex-husband Channing Tatum, is especially focused on one key detail: making sure the wedding is enjoyable for everyone.
“She wants to make sure it’s fun,” Dewan explained. “It’s like, ‘Let’s make sure the party is fun, Mom.’ That’s important.”
Opinions on the Ceremony—and the Dress
Dewan said her daughter also has strong thoughts about the ceremony itself and isn’t shy about sharing them. The actress sees that involvement as a positive step.
“She has a lot of opinions, which is great,” Dewan said. “She is just a part of it. And we want to make sure she feels a part of it.”
While Dewan hasn’t begun shopping for wedding dresses yet, she already knows the overall vibe she’s going for—and she’s confident Everly will offer honest feedback.
“She’ll tell me if she doesn’t like it,” Dewan said with a laugh. “And she’ll really tell me if she does like it.”
A Blended Family at the Center
In addition to Everly, Dewan and Kazee share two younger children: Callum, 5, and Rhiannon, 1. Dewan said making the wedding inclusive for her children is a priority, reinforcing the idea that the celebration marks a milestone for the whole family, not just the couple.
Giving Back Together Through Baby2Baby
At the Baby2Baby event, Dewan also spoke about how her charitable work has influenced Everly as she’s grown older. The nonprofit provides essential items to children in need across the U.S., including families affected by homelessness and recent Los Angeles fires.
“I love being in person with the kids that we are serving,” Dewan said. “It always puts me in a place of gratitude.”
She added that Everly now better understands why giving back matters.
“She understands why we’re giving essentials and why these kids might not experience the same things,” Dewan said. “She knows we live a very blessed life, and she knows it’s good to give back.”
The family also shops for children through Baby2Baby each Christmas—an activity Dewan says has become one of Everly’s favorite traditions.
“She really takes time to pick something she thinks would bring the most joy,” Dewan said. “You can see it connect.”
As wedding planning continues, Dewan says that sense of gratitude and togetherness remains at the heart of everything.
