Jonah Hill is nearly unrecognizable in the first images from his upcoming Apple TV film Outcome, where he stars alongside Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz. The Oscar-nominated actor, 42, appears bald with a silver beard, a striking transformation from the curly-haired, youthful look that defined his early career.
A Return to the Spotlight
After stepping back from Hollywood in recent years, Hill is returning with Outcome, a dark comedy he co-wrote, directed, and stars in. The film follows Reeves’s character, Reef Hawk, a famous actor forced to confront his hidden demons after being blackmailed with a video that threatens his career. Hill plays Ira, Reef’s crisis lawyer, while Diaz and Matt Bomer portray his lifelong friends.
A Star-Studded Ensemble
The film boasts an impressive cast, including Martin Scorsese, Laverne Cox, Kaia Gerber, Susan Lucci, David Spade, Atsuko Okatsuka, Ivy Wolk, and Roy Wood Jr. Apple TV unveiled the first look at the film during its press day, showcasing Hill’s dramatic new appearance alongside Reeves, Diaz, and Bomer.

Hill rose to fame with comedies like Superbad and 21 Jump Street, later earning acclaim for dramatic roles. In 2022, he released the documentary Stutz, where he revealed his struggles with anxiety attacks, which led him to step back from promoting films. His last on-screen role was in 2023’s You People with Eddie Murphy, following the controversial Don’t Look Up in 2021. The actor also faced public scrutiny in 2023 when his ex-girlfriend Sarah Brady accused him of emotional abuse, sharing alleged text messages. Hill did not publicly respond to the claims.
A Metaphor for Social Media
Co-written with Ezra Woods, Outcome marks Hill’s third directorial project after Mid90s (2018) and Stutz (2022). Hill described the film as “a metaphor for what we all go through living on social media,” noting how online culture has shifted focus toward strangers’ opinions rather than those of close friends and family. With its noir-inspired tone and star-studded cast, Outcome is shaping up to be one of Apple TV’s most anticipated releases of 2026.
