Country star Lainey Wilson is opening up about the challenges of planning her upcoming wedding to fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges. Speaking with PEOPLE at the premiere of Reminders of Him in Los Angeles on March 9, the 33-year-old singer joked that she’s in need of assistance. “Girl, I need some help. I need some help,” she laughed.
Wilson explained that she and Hodges are taking their time with preparations. “Honestly, we’re taking our time, and I’ve told him, and he’s on the same page. We just want it to be about what it’s supposed to be about and just enjoy it.”
Wedding Must-Haves
At the 2026 Grammys, Wilson shared her vision for the big day. She wants her closest family present, good music, and delicious food. “I want my family to be there, like my mama and daddy, sister and her kids. I want good music, good food,” she said.
The menu will reflect both her Louisiana roots and Hodges’ tastes. “Maybe a little bit of Cajun flare. My fiancé likes a good steak. So it might just be a mixture,” she revealed.
Searching for the Perfect Dress
Wilson previously told PEOPLE that finding her wedding dress was the first step in planning. She hopes the gown will bring Hodges to tears when she walks down the aisle. “I’m excited to just step outside of the box and see what happens. So hopefully when he sees me, he’ll be boohooing,” she said.
A Supportive Partner
The Yellowstone actress gushed about her fiancé, calling him her “biggest cheerleader.” “The sky is the limit, that’s how he acts about everything. He’s just the place that I get to call home and I’m lucky to have him,” she said.
Wilson and Hodges announced their engagement in February 2025 after making their public debut at the ACM Awards in 2023. Their romance began in 2021, and now they’re preparing to take the next step together.
Looking Ahead
While Wilson admits wedding planning can be overwhelming, she’s focused on keeping the celebration meaningful. With family, music, and love at the center, her nuptials promise to reflect both her roots and her relationship with Hodges.
